LOVOO Reviewed: Half Dating App, Half Tipping Economy

Credits are a separate economy attached to streaming. You buy them with real money and spend them on virtual gifts during live broadcasts, which help the streamers you like stand out and grow.

On the receiving side, gifts become diamonds and diamonds convert to credits or cash. That is why popular broadcasters treat LOVOO as income. It also means a portion of what you are watching is a performance aimed at getting gifted, and it is worth knowing which half of the app you are in.

This is the most common misunderstanding about it. LOVOO does not pair you with an anonymous stranger on camera. It is a dating app with profiles, location and swiping, plus a broadcast layer on top.

The live video is one to many, not one to one. You are watching someone broadcast to a room, alongside everyone else watching, with a gift economy running underneath. That is closer to a streaming platform than to random video chat.

If you arrived wanting to be connected face to face with one stranger who is also there to talk to one person, LOVOO structurally does not do that, and no amount of exploring the app will surface it.

So the choice is not really between them. It is a question of whether you want to meet someone specific near you, or talk to anyone at all right now.
